Hereford away.
Play off final.
Back in the old Goldstone days I still remember the old league cup run.We were in div 3 and played Ipswich and Derby with packed North Stand.Beat Ipswich and drew at home to Derby then bunked off school to go the the Baseball ground and get beaten in the replay. If I remember correct fred Binney scored against Ipswich and cut his head open and had a blood soaked bandage around his head. Also lots of Palace encounters.

Cup finals, Playoff 1991, Fans Utd & playoff 2004 are there too - but not quite in the same league for me.

the clue is in the name
Play off semi final....but then two fans related.

Chelsea played us at the Goldstone, 197?, Chelsea fans were to the laft of the North Stand. Brighton fans were chanting. Chelsea fans ran across the corner of the pitch ....no trouble, or not for long, then North Stand were shouting Chelsea, Chelsea!

The other was Spurs again at the Goldstone in the 70's. A bit of a skuffle in the Northstand before the match. Tannoy "Will the police outside the ground please come inside the ground!"

I was to the right of the North stand round the corner a bit, by a concretete post. A swell of fans were pushing, just so powerfull, trying to get away from the trouble but further away it was a tide of people. I held out both arms against the post it gave way. Below was the pathway we jumped down and we helped people across....it seemed to happen so quick but in slow motion. I wasn't worried at the time but afterwards it affected me. Stuck in a crowd with the feeling that you were not in control.....withdean is such a quite place.

Anyone else remember those two incidents?

Sunderland away 1981. Last away game of the season, with the Albion in a relegation place and Sunderland just above. 1-1 with 92 minutes on the clock and up pops Gary Williams to rifle one in from the edge of the area.

Our travelling support that day was 42 fans!

FA Cup semi final - Was toward the back of the clock end and when Jimmy's goal went in the wave of ecstasy from the front to the back was like a mexican wave

FA Cup final (the first game) - highs and lows - when Smith did score the ball was coming straight towards me into the net and at half time thinking God we could win the FA Cup - then the depression of being 2-1 down - then the relief of Gary Steven's equaliser.

Winning at Millwall after they had gone undefeated for ages, scarey stuff

Beating Liverpool in the cup at the Goldstone in '84 with the novelty at the time of being at a game that was live on TV

Winning promotion in '88 final match of the season v Bristol Rovers

Final match of the '91 season and that Deano last minute goal

2004 Play off final

Obviously the last at the Goldstone, Hereford, Play Off final etc but the one I'll always remember is this:

Albion 4 Newcastle Utd 2. Cold night at the Goldstone in the early 1990s. Went 1 or maybe 2 down and then Brian Wade scored all four - header, left and right foot - before walking off in tears as we all went mad. Whatever happened to him?
