its an English tradition and gives those who would otherwise not be allowed out, the excuse to drink tankards full of ale all day :lolol:

I don't actually "do" morris dancing but I quite like it if it's on outside a pub or something, nothing wrong it, it's quite entertaining, if a bit mistifying.

What's weird is when you have a piss in the pub and one of the bell-wearers tinkles up next to you...

Do you morriss dance by any chance :jester:

My surname happens to be Morris, and when drunk enough I have been known to dance (sort of). But no, I don't Morris Dance, just like the whole spectacle of it, and Morris On by the Albion Band is one of my favourite records (I have an eclectic taste in music)

I'd be well up for the idea that morris dancing should be the England rugby team's response to New Zealanders doing the haka.

I feel a confession coming on.

I used to perform with the Albion Band - not all the time, but with their dance troupe, called the Albionettes.

We once did a seriously dangerous gig at the Fairfield Halls, Croydon. And lived to tell the tale.

Brazillians have the samba

Spanish have the Flamenco

We have Morris Dancing!!! but in all honesty its what makes Britian ,GREAT, our national dance is aload of men prancing about to an Accordian with bells on bashing sticks together!

the eccentricity of it is brilliant!
