Virg's - £1.5 mil

Harding - £500 k minimum

Dick Knight to let McGee have £1 mil, 4 quality players for that and hey presto mid table finish.

thoughts and views please ?

I still fear that those northern gits might persuade the tribunal to settle for £250k.

Here's hoping that Uncle Dick can successfully use the Virgs deal as proof that we deserve at least £1m

Given that Harding has England Caps to Virgo's Scottish surely he must be worth double.

Seriously though the fact Celtic are paying £1.5m for Virgo surely can be taken into account at the tribunal

I reacon £400K, Harding wasn't that great.
I think we'll finish mid table too if MM spends the funds sensibly.

I reckon we'll get about £750k for Harding.

McGhee isn't going to get a huge whack of that, so two or three more players to come, and a promise of a regular battering from Captain Charlie for under-perfomers, and we'll be OK.

I also think that Virgo going for 1.5million will push up Hardings price...so long as Virgo's price is considered a fair price and not daylight robbery by us.

They're both a similar age. They've both come through the same youth system. They both became first team regulars at about the same time. On top of that, Harding played more games than Virgo and has a handful of England U21 caps. I really don't see how they can give us less than 500k.

The big difference is that Virgo was under contract so we could push up the fee and Harding was out of contract, so could walk away and the tribunal will reward us for his development.

How much do you reakon MM has to strenthen the squad with?
I reacon a total of about £750K after the harding tribunal is sorted.

True. Which is why I'm hoping for 500-750k. I reckon that if they take the other similarities into account, and come to the conclusion that they are players of similar ability then hopefully they will consider that Celtic paid about 750 - 1million on top of his worth to get a contracted player. I hope.

LAst year we sold two players for a total of 500,000, made 250,000 from the spurs cup game and 200,000 from the live and kicking thing(i think). So about 1million to keep us ticking over. I'm hoping that the board will take 1million form the sale of Virgo and Harding to see us through this season. I'm assuming that this will be enough to get us through. Then, the rest can go on bringing in new players- hopefully 1million plus. As an extra bonus, the 'original' budget can go back into feeding the 'black hole'. And if we get a big team away from home in either cup, some of that money can be used on debts and maybe bringing in a player if we need one in January.

I'm feeling HOPEFUL!:)

According to soccerbase Harding had played 62 games for us with 14 sub apperances in all competitions. Virgo had played 72 games with 10 sub apperances in all competitions, Virgs also played 8 games for Exeter. Although I think the England U21 caps should push the value up for Harding.

Sorry, I should've been clearer. I meant last season.

I must admit though, that I thought Virgo had played far more than 82 games for us. Didn't he make his debut in the Div 3 championship side? And I'm sure he was used regularly as a replacement for Morgan when the old guys knees couldn't cope with two games in a week.

He was part of the 3rd Div championship side, and was the first choice replacement for Simon Morgan.

Virgs played under Coppell just once, the 4-2 home defeat against Sheff United in October 02 (Coppells first game in charge) he was then loaned out to Exeter. His next apperance in a Brighton shirt came in January 2004 when he came on as a sub for Mark Yeates in a 0-0 draw at Oldham. So in that 15 months out of action he would have missed the best part of 70 games for the club in all competitions. He should have played at least 100 times for us really. Coppell clearly didnt know how to get the best out of Adam.

The important thing is for the club to use this money to underpin survival this season coming.

It is a very good situation if Falmer signed off.

Financially we are secure for this coming season and we have player budget as well - Nirvana :clap2: :clap2:
