Best known for her portrayal of the Jackson family matriarch Blossom in EastEnders by many younger fans, but she was a distinguished star of stage and screen and one of the first women of colour to play Lady MacBeth.

She also won a place in many people's hearts for her role of Auntie Susu in ground-breaking sitcom Desmond's, as well as spin-off show Porkpie.

Can remember her as Blossom, and l think for the role she played in Desmonds with the young Lenny Henry.

Had no idea that she had enjoyed such a long distinguished career though prior to that though. R.I.P.
