Mod selection question.

Apologies if fixtures, but I haven't noticed it elsewhere.

I noticed today that the mods list at the bottom of the page contains someone with only 20 posts to their name who only joined last year. I always assumed all the mods were long standing members and/or prolific posters - certainly I recognise the name of all the others very readily.

So what exactly is the selection process for being a mod on here ? Just curious.

How about a bit of democracy in the recruitment process. Candidates put themselves forward and the elections are decided by a poll. At the moment what we have is a dictatorship!

In all seriousness, I do choose but I also ask the existing moderating team when I make changes.

And, unlike most other forums I come across, moderators do change here. If people are unable to give the time required, for whatever reason, I'll ask them to step aside and move others in.
