That’s what I did with John Lewis home insurance.
We made three claims in three years for three damaged phones/tablets.
They then loaded the home insurance premium from £300 to £800 per annum. No other insurer would then touch us “due our claims history”, We were in effect trapped until after a further three years, other insurers would take us on and at a reasonable premium.
The lesson to me was either pay to get devices fixed, or take out purely device insurance with a specialist.
My Lloyd's bank account covers mine, just need to upload the proof of purchase and the imie number

Same here....................I know there's a lot of noise around the value of 'packaged' bank accounts but for me in addition to the standard banking stuff the WW travel insurance, mobile phone insurance and full AA cover makes it worthwhile (and simple)

I've owned a mobile phone for about 23 years now; my wife at least 20. In that time I've never broken a phone and my wife cracked one screen on her current Google Pixel 3A - we sold it as damaged on eBay and bought a new one, at a net cost of about £150.![]()
likewise, forst phone in 99, still have a draw of old but working phones, think my lad may have sold a few . .never killed one.
I wouldn't bother, just buy a decent case for it.I have always had hand me down mobiles so I have never bothered with insurance. I am thinking of getting a new phone so I am wondering what the good people of NSC do .Do you take a chance?
