MK Dons travel question - Yes, another one

Just rung my mate to arrange our travel for MK Dons on Saturday.

I was hoping to pop down to the travel shop at the bottom of St. James Street in the next few days, and get a cheap deal using only Southern trains.

So my journey would go something like this...

BRIGHTON -- CLAPHAM -- MILTON KEYNES

Is this route possible? Because that's what people seem to be talking about on here. However my mates idea of the route was more expensive, and went something like this...

BRIGHTON -- VICTORIA -- EUSTON -- MILTON KEYNES

What is the BEST way to go? Is my way, the best way? Because when I go onto the Southern or National Rail website it only gives me my mates route or via Luton!!!

Any help would be much appreciated.

If you use Victoria or Euston then youhave to get the underground and that will push the price up

The group travel is for SOUTHERN trains only and they dont go into Euston so YOUR route would be best!

Saying that, Im not sure if the cheepest tiskets are still avalable so going through Euston might acctually be cheeper!

MK is 4 miles from the ground, whereas Bletchley is only 2 miles away. MK trains will feed from Euston and Bletchley, feed from Croydon & Clapham. However, I think you can get a train from Euston to Bletchley. (So the trains from Croydon/Clapham will be to bletchley, not MK.)

I think the best way is the Euston way. Only 40 mins from Euston whereas it's 1 hour 40 minutes from Croydon. Better trains too.

I dont think it's to much more, but £5 going the Croydon way is top notch.

This is the only thing.

But I heard that the cut-off point for those tickets is only for people ordering online for delivery reasons.

Someone said that if I went to the shop in person, I should be able to still get a decent deal.

But I'm not too sure? ???

I went to One stop at the Old Stein today and asked about the group save and, can finally say for DEFINITE, that the 3/4 for £20 group tickets are available from there up until the day of travel.

You CAN get them until FRIDAY.

So, for DEFINITE, is that until Saturday or until Friday ?? :wozza:

Well she said until the day of travel, so presumably that means you can get them on Saturday as well. I can't say for sure though, so I would probably get them in advance if possible.

I thought the one stop travel shop only sold First Capital Connect tickets and you could only get the Southern Day Save tickets online, and a week before you travel.
If they've changed the rules then that's much better!

I manage quite well. Although it's normally afternoon before I get up!
