Read the report from the football parliament and the "in-fighting" between the two sets of fans.

Its really, really sad and must never ever happen again.

Even the Milton Keynes lot (sadly, disillusioned) didn't want the name change.

What's really tragic is the few die hard Wimbledon fans who are travelling to Milton Keynes and will surely now see "their club" drop slowly out the league.

This is a sad day for football. I can imagine being in the same sort of situation, believing that maybe, just maybe the team would return.

But that's it. Wimbledon FC are gone, the crazy gang, that FA Cup final win - just dust blowing in the wind.

Maybe AFC Wimbledon will make their way to football league status, but not for a while.

Forget England, I will remember this as a sad day for football.

Well, 'we' (I am also an AFC follower) have been giving them quite a bit of shit whenever they've opened a board, pointing out the things that many of them are just beginning to realise was the truth to them.

Yes, well I think us Brighton fans can relate to that. We supported getting planning permission for a retail development at the Goldstone because we were told that this would increase the value of the land, enable the club to re-mortgage, and pay off our debts. We were told that the Goldstone WOULD NOT be sold. Understandably we were very angry when it was then sold - I think most people know the rest of the story!!!

A very sad day for football. Does this now lay open any plans for clubs to relocate and re-brand themselves. Franchise football cannot be allowed to flourish. This team (MK Dons) cannot be allowed to succeed.......

In the previous league format (not taking into account the changes with the Conference), they could be in the same league at the start of the 2006/07 season.

I think this message pretty much sums up the people who follow the Milton Keynes Thieves!

"For most MK Dons fans in MK the name change is not only welcome but totally logical - you play in our town then call the club by our name.
Those small number of historians who support Wimbledon FC and who still hanker after the Wimbledon FC history would do well to remember a couple of things:

Wimbledon FC has been rescued by an MK based consortium headed up by Peter Winkleman, he and his consortium are entitled to call the club whatever they think will give them the best return on what undoubtedly is a very risky investment.

Wimbledon FC was never a very well supported club and the majority of it's supporters departed company with it on the day it was agreed to move it to MK. They went on to set up a new club and will be delighted to hear that the name Wimbledon FC has been relinquished. Let them have it along with the clubs history, they deserve it, it's theirs!

MK Dons fans should feel satisfied now we have robbed another community of it,s professional football club so that we can have professional football played here in MK. Don't moan about it, don't whinge, we have now got a real football club - let's get behind it!

Sorry Wimbledon! Sorry UK, you may hate us, but we now have a Professional football team and we are going to get behind it and support it!"

When he received a bit of a slating from cheesed-off Wimbledon fans he gave this response;

"What on earth did you ever expect? I'm a West Ham supporter, I would rather be seeing WestHam play in MK, but as I can't I will put up with MK Dons as a second best chance to watch pro football on my doorstep.
