When I was a kid I watched a programme (I can't remember if it was in school, or one of those educational shows that used to be on early morning on bbc) where they had little animations that showed apostrophes knocking the 'i' from 'is' in sentances containing the phrase "it is...". I always picture that when trying to remeber if I should write "it's" or "its"

why is there an apostrophe in you thread title? Or are you being sarcastic?

The one thing that annoys me on NSC (and more so on facebook) is the constant misuse of their, there and they're - all of which mean different things.

My apostrophe use and spelling is pretty poor anyway, so I can't moan about that.

I think he was being sarcastic: although, as TiD's misspelling of practise showed, any post complaining about grammar/spelling seems always to contain some sort of error itself

Is he using the apostrophe in the title wrong though?

He could be shortening "Misused Apostrophe Marks" to "Misused Apostrophe's" in which case he's correct isn't he?
