My Dad Barry Lawson sadly passed away aged 76 on 11/11/24 he was a season ticket holder in the West stand lower until his health deteriorated and is the reason why I’m a Albion fan and took me to The Goldstone, Priestfield&Withdean! It would mean the world to the family if we could get a minute’s applause for him on the 76th Minute at the game today. We had emailed the club initially, and they replied with their deepest sympathies but went on to explain how they receive a great many requests from fans for this and that it is just not possible for them to accommodate, which we understand. But we were hoping that we could still attempt to do an unofficial fan lead applause in his name.

Sympathy for the recent loss of your Dad. If lucky enough to have had a good one, then "Dad" is a very short word with a very big and special meaning.

Totally understand the club's position as obviously impossible for them to accomodate. I will think of you and Barry (and my own Dad) when the clock ticks to 76 mins tonight and give an extra clap. Hopefully The Amex will be full of noise at the time as we are on our way to a win and league position he would have loved to see.

Well, I'm at home watching it on the box. And as I'm the only one here and there is no cat to scare I shall be clapping loudly for Barry. I've made a note.

Hopefully it will be followed by a super strike in the 77th to send us 4-0 up.

My thoughts will be with you on 76th minute, while watching from home. Your first sentence applies almost word to word to me (except West Upper and 27/05/24).

Unfortunately I fear your request won’t manage to spread to enough people to take hold in the ground tonight. Hopefully it will be some comfort that there will be people in the ground and at home thinking of you, your dad and your family in the 76th minute.

I'm sorry for your loss.
I know at the last home game of the season, the club show pictures on the big screens of those we have lost in the past months. People can then applaud them all. I lost a dear friend in June, a stalwart Albion fan so I hope to see his picture next May.

Won’t most of us have gone home by the 76th minute?

I’ll still be there, and will give your Dad a clap.

RIP.

Sorry for your loss .

Maybe we can muster a goal for your father on the 76th minute , that would be a bit special

I will keep your dad in my thoughts at that time tonight. But a serious genuine question though so we get this right. The 76th minute will start when the clock changes to 75 not 76, when it says 76 that will be the 77th minute, the same as the 1st minute has 0 on the Clock. It would be a shame if people don't clap in the same minute.

Indeed 76th minute is when clock shows 75 .
