Millwall deny loss claims
Paphitis has admitted taking gambles to achieve success
FA Cup finalists Millwall have dismissed reports they face a £4m loss.
As they prepare for their first Uefa Cup campaign, a press article alleges the Lions' wage bill exceeds gate receipts by £3m.
But in a statement to the Stock Exchange, Millwall claim: "The article is untrue and contains a number of gross inaccuracies.
"Final results for the 12 months ended May 31 are expected to be published on Friday September 10."
Lions' chairman Theo Paphitis has admitted taking a series of financial gambles to achieve success.
Last season's beaten FA Cup finalists are expected to be among the main contenders for promotion to the Premiership.
But Paphitis has dismissed speculation his policies have led to financial hardship for the club.
