He's articulate, vaguely witty and a Brighton fan. What IS the problem?

Mike Ward says:

Fans gutted, thought he (SC) might actually stay, general dislike of Reading does'nt want to stir it up. Cheque book open off goes another manager.

Says SC knows how to work things at this level, he was ideal for us.

Candidates: Bob Booker, Ian Dowie, Booker is the guy who does the high Spirit thing in the camp so maybe not the bloke for Manager.

ITV merger now, thats not Brighton damn you Talksport!
No mention of Falmer yet

and that was it, something about this being a 5th manager in so many years. He came across alright I though, Albion fan sounded gutted and said so about SC leaving...pretty much the same way we all feel.

No mention of Falmer though, I would've plugged that first personally!

Haven't got anything against him personally (I think his humour is boring and his book was dire but I respect that some people like it) but I don't like all these people who've turned up since the going got easy.

If that makes me a 'local village for local people' type then I'm sorry but that's the way I feel. I've been to Swansea with 49 others, or the Pissfield knowing we've got nothing to play for, and that makes my soul inherently purer than theirs. And in turn I feel dirty around those who were, say, at the play-off final.

Albion Dan said:
He has piggy backed the club, we gave him the material to write about, he has been given an article in the programme, He is now known as the journo to speak to about Brighton in the trade. 3 or 4 years ago he didnt know the first thing about BHA.

Where did I say that it in anyway took anything away from the club? I dont think it has at all. I am only saying that because of his involvemet with us he has made more of a name for himself.

Oh come on. A short interview on Talksport! Crikey. Next thing he'll be presenting Match of the Day.

There's an inherent problem in media, be it written or broadcast, singling out individuals to speak for 'the fans', because they clearly won't ever speak for all supporters on all of a range of subjects. But if the bloke's reasonably articulate and is sound on the main points, what's the problem? Sounds like petty jealousy, I mean he's hardly making a living out of public pronouncements about the Albion.

To be honest, I wasnt over keen on the book, but I would rather him speak that watsername who runs the supporters club.

Anyone who is passionate about the Albion is welcome in my book, no matter who you previously supported

Or do we only want fans who have been supporting the club all of their life

btw Beardy your opinion cannot be worth much as you are only, and I quote "19 - 20" :D :D

Hove, f***ing ACTUALLY.
I enjoyed the book although it took me a while to work him out.
Having met him a few times I really don't think he was piggy backing anyone, I really don't think he has gained that much out of it personally, maybe a bit of money off the book, but he had a pretty successfull career before hand anyway.
No the bloke is genuine and anyone who can bring positive media attention to the club is OK in my book, lets face it I would rather listen to him than some 'official club drone' spouting the party line like the shit thats spoon fed off Seagulls World.

I don't really understand having a go at the bloke. He is perfectly open about his support.

In his shoes he follows Arsenal at a distance, gets interested in his local Club, seea and becomes part of the community we all know and love, and is hooked. Not the first and he won't be the last. Come one come all.
