Steve Gibson, Chairman of Middlesborough as spoken out to day about how he and the board come close to sacking manager Wardy Wonderland. "We were not happy with our league postion and had him (Wardy Wonderland) in for a chat. He mentioned that he had plays out injured and through suspension and that he still belived that he could do a job." 'Boro now out of the relgation zone are sitting 10th on current form and improving all the time. Gibson went on to say, "after a long chat the board agreed to give him a little more time to turn the situation around. It is never nice to sack a manager, and it would be even harder early in the season."

Wardy Wonderland, when asked about the meeting just said "we had a chat an i assured them that things would change when i had a full team again. It was nothing more serious then that."
