personally i wouldn't have got rid of dean but with the arrival of micky many fans were delighted and i was one of them.
i do not want to get on his back i want to give him a chance but at the moment i cant see us being out of relegation places the way we play.
1. we play the long ball
2. we get beat by the long ball
3. midfield doesnt have set positions they are all over the shop
4. we need out and out wingers murrey (class) and forster we win 90% off balls in the air.
5. virgo needs to be dropped and made to fight for rither a defending position or a striker not f***ing RIGHT MIDFIELD or CENTER for a matter of fact (however crewe he did well)!
6. i think hawkins is quality but needs to be rested if hes not 100% dont f***ing play him hes been below average and needs also to rest then fight back for his place.
7. can we at least stick 4 passes together without the ball being in the air!

comments on this would be appreciated.

I have a friend who is a leicester city fan and his words to me yesterday were we had to suffer his inept tactics for 2 years - so its not just brighton fasn that don't agree with tactics

I still believe if this was any other manager other than Micky, there would be serious moves in the way of fans calling for the managers head.

I think the majority are blinkered as they see Adams as the saviour and are living on past glories however right or wrong that is.

I dont think it is the results that matter so much, but the baffling team selections and manner in which we are getting the results. This is what is testing the patience of many, and now we are hitting the silly season for weather, it could be even more testing for the fans. Being booed off the pitch for 4 home games running and it not being November yet is a sign of things to come me thinks

Results matter, if only for getting the casual through the door. I think most people can stomach defeat if the team play with commitment. Although long strings of defeats will test the patience of most!

I would just like to say that I am in 100% agreement with that statement.

Many other managers would have had fans baying for blood with a record of 2 wins in 10, 3 from 15 points at home and a negative home goal difference. I can only think that the Man City win and the JPT wins are appeasing people.

does anyone has access to his managerial record from when he left to when he came back?

Leicester - took them up to the Prem and then down again, then resigned

P111 W41 D32 L38 Win% 36.93

Coventry City - saved them from relegation, then 8th, then sacked

P99 W33 D40 L26 Win% 33.33

When he was with us before:

P125 W57 D34 L34 Win% 45.60

I wonder, in how many of the 125 games he had with us before was he able to call on the services of Mr B Zamora?

I disagree. I think most (but by no means all) fans would think that the beginning of October is far too soon to start calling for the manager's head. Grumbles, moans, boos, mutters of dissent, yes, but serious moves, no. Not yet.

After all we're only Brighton. I don't think any of us think we have a God-given right to walk away with this division unlike Leeds fans for example - and even they've shown doses of realism.

Come back at Christmas. No, it won't be too late for a new man to turn things around.

Firstly people have been saying just that. And secondly, you make it sound as though it's ok to calling for him to be sacked in October. Regardless of who the manager is, no-one should be saying such a thing in October let alone the first season in charge.

I didnt mean it to come accross like that, thats just how I see other fans seeing the picture.

The last thing I want is a change of manager, and start the whole rebuilding thing again, then the season becomes a write off and few thousand ££ of my own money goes down the drain.

Youre right no one should be calling for him to be sacked, but where I sit at Withdean, that has already happened, and I find it amusing when the same people are heaping praise and singing his name 10 minutes later

Exactly, so there are people calling for the sack. Unfortunately these people are fickle idiots and it would happen no matter who the manager is/team playing etc.

Ok so I've looked it up myself

Leicester April 2002 - Oct 2004 P111 W41 L32 D38
Coventry Jan 2005 - Jan 2007 P99 W33 L40 D26

In total P210 W74 L72 D64

Win ratio of about 1 in 3

Is it that special - certainly not as good as when he was with us or Fulham

Special? No, not really. But to read the views of many on here you would think that he had performed poorly in his latter managerial posts. In fact, he did quite a good job at Leicester in getting them up, then predictably didn't manage to keep them in the Premiership. I suspect what has happened since he left Leicester puts things into perspective....

He has only actually been sacked once, which came after leaving Coventry in 8th position.....(sound familiar?)

I disagree with others on here and would suggest that his record (especially at this level) warrants some confidence and trust in his abilities as a manager. OK, like others I disagree with playing Virgo in right midfield, but we are not in the know about the condition / fitness / attitude of other players in the way that he is.

Totally agree and must admit, that it has now got to the point where I can not be bothered to post on here much as its the usual witch hunters.

Give him time (and the rest of us a rest).
