the family has asked me to post the following message

"Can we please send our sincere thanks to everyone who has posted messages of condolences and support on North Stand Chat over the last couple of days. As you can appreciate this is an incredibly difficult time and to know people are thinking about Marie is very comforting.

Can we also thank people who have offered to send flowers and donations. We would however prefer rather than flowers, donations be sent to Brighton and Hove Albion following their request for financial help, perhaps with a note to say that this is in memory of Marie Harding who so loved our club.

Again, please accept our heartfelt thanks.

Julie, Andy, Natalie, Danny and Jim "

One of the most moving threads since Rob was killed. Could never afford the £250 but will send what I can to the club!

when people talk about the only loyal part of football being the fans they are talking about the likes of the Harris family - part of the Albion and have been there through thick and thin.

What a fantastic tribute to Marie and a wonderful thought during a time of such sadness.

I wasn't sure about donating to the fund but will certainly get my cheque book out now.

RIP

I was thinking the same. Anybody who was sitting on the fence about donating hopefully will now do so as a tribute to a wonderful lady who was so loyal to this club. My heart goes out to all her family, but what a great gesture they have made at this extremely difficult time. It's good to know it helps for them to know that the thoughts of so many Seagull fans are with them.

Can we get the Argus to mention this?

It will let others who don't read NSC contribute to a fitting memorial to Marie too. This lady needs to be honoured in this way by as many people as possible.

At times like this I am very proud to be an Albion fan, associated with fine people like Marie and her family.

Again, deepest sympathies and condolences to the Harding family.

RIP Marie. True fans like her and her family are what following the albion is all about.

I'll definately be sending my donation now, I hope everyone else does too.
