Feeling very defeatist this morning aren't we Sim? We're about ten places below Palace, hardly a gulf. And no-one would want Kember. Mediocre is generous.

Nah, I'm bullish about our prospects. I just find the piss taking out of Palace all rather embarrassing to be honest.

Like you, I'm old enough to remember the glory years. 1984/5 when Cattlin had just assembled a team that would have got promoted if play-offs had been around - Ryan, Penney, Wilson, Saunders, Connor, Keown(!) and the team of the '80s had never recovered from relegation a few years before and were as shit as any club could be. That season we went up there needing a win for our promotion bid, they got 4,200 for a 0-5 home defeat to Wimbledon. They were pants and a laughing stock. Happy days.

They averaged 6,000 that season and escaped relegation by the skin of their teeth. Do you see what I'm getting at? That is still better than us RIGHT NOW and we're on the up!

i think it is a little too early to judge steve kember the blokes only been in charge for 11 games he's played all the top sides most of them have been away,i'l give hime untill xmass to start making progress.his attacking style of football is better to watch than trevor francis's crap.

As far as I know he kept putting up EMPICS copyright pictures, was warned by email several times, does not appear to have heeded these warnings and then last week while everyone was being warned about possible action against the BBS on a legal matter he goes and puts up a libellous picture. We were working our socks off trying to keep things right here and then a stupid idiot who'd been warned (and had seemed to ignore warnings) before about this sort of thing goes and does it again.
