I agree but it looks like we are going to load the front and hit long balls for them to chase.

He was. And he was ok against Leeds.

He has, however, done absolutely bugger all in any of the other games i've seen him play.

I don't mind him. I think he's quite a decent footballer. He's just not a provider of goals or a 'winger' in the traditional sense of the word. Therefore, when the rest of the midfield is full of more players who can't create, he looks poor. If we had a couple of flair men capable of fashioning a chance for the forwards, he would look a lot better imo.

That's the problem though. If he's not a provider of goals OR a 'winger', then what is he? What's his job?

I think he's a midfielder who can pass a ball, and does the proverbial "job." If you put him into a Thomson/Fraser/Hammond role, he might do well. He's just not got the tricks to be played wide and expected to deliver chances.

Now that, i agree on. He can play a simple pass and makes a few tackles.

As a winger though, he's hopeless, and contributes next to nothing. When Fraser was played there he wasn't any worse
