Hi, does anyone remember a keeper called Martin Hyde who claims to have played for us in the 80's as well as Southampton. He is embroiled in a racist story in America at the moment and claimed he was 'an ex soccer player' for us and Saints. I personally can't remember him? Can anyone?

Must say I've never heard of him but that's not to say he wasn't involved with the Albion at some level

Googling him and the only references to Martin Hyde mentioning the Albion are the news stories about that incident and none about matches he played for us.

I just had a look through a list of Southampton players.

He never played for them either.

youth squad maybe, there is no way i recall him in our final season in the first division or in any cup run that's for sure.

Definitely a youth team player . As sad as it sounds I collected the autographs of any Albion player as a kid including the youth team and remember his name
