Solly*March has backed Albion to do a Bournemouth – by sustaining a promotion challenge against the odds.
The unbeaten Seagulls continue to fly under the radar of ‘experts’, despite heading into Sunday’s Sky televised clash at fellow contenders Burnley behind only Hull on goal difference.
Sky’s Andy Hinchcliffe has not included any Albion players in his top ten in the Championship so far this season.
Midfield duo Dale Stephens and Beram Kayal, along with vice-captain Bruno, are overlooked by the ex-Manchester City and Everton defender in a list including Burnley’s Joey Barton and Andre Gray plus representatives of Hull, Derby, Brentford, Birmingham, Fulham, Cardiff, Sheffield Wednesday and Reading.
“But we’ve got a good squad, good morale, confidence is high, so I don’t see why we can’t.
“It’s like Bournemouth last year in a way. A lot of people thought their level would drop near the end of the season but it didn’t happen, they kept on going.
“I think it’s that confidence, belief, and if you’ve got that you are definitely in with a shout.”
Unfancied Bournemouth led the table on goal difference at the same stage last season, with Middlesbrough, Watford, Derby, Ipswich, Wolves and Norwich ganged up close behind. They went on to win the league by a point.
