The Argus reports today:

"Another candidate who Knight is interested in has come forward since last Saturday, when he revealed to the Argus he was down to a short list of four.

The list is thought to include Iain Dowie, Stuart Gray as well as Bob Booker. A surprise contender could be Torquay's head coach Leroy Rosenior who worked with Danny Wilson at Bristol City and has a one-year rolling contract. Knight commented ' There are people working at clubs without contracts and some with rolling contracts. They are both open ended and free to leave the club if they wish'.

Brooker will be in charge again against Stockport on Saturday. Knight said 'By next Wednesday I expect to have the Brighton Mangers position resolved'.

Agreed the usual 'thought to be' and 'could be' stuff but Knight does confirm Wednesday as Dowie day??? :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

I expect Bob will pack his bags if he gets overlooked:(

It'll be sad if he does because I think most fans think he's a great asset but nothing is forever, especially in football.

I have to say I think you're right IBASIMW. It will be a shame, because he is a great number two, but I think he may leave. Hopefully whoever does get the job will encourage him to stay though...

i don't reckon he will necessarily pack his bag. he commented that as caretaker he would be clinging on to some of his mateyness with the players cos he was aware that he could very well be returning to his former role.

he's got a job (as number 2) that he was doing very well at and enjoying. he would only leave if he had a better job elsewhere.

Hove, f***ing ACTUALLY.
Who is going to take BB on, on more money than he is on at the moment as an Assistant Manager or Coach ??

There aint exactly that many jobs out there at the moment and he aint exactly high profile enough for any punditory work.

I'm really not being harsh on him because he has been a very loayal servant, but DK has always said he is safe in his present position, and I personally think he would be very foolish to go

I read somewhere that out of approx 34 managers who had been sacked in the last year something like only 4 had been re employed as managers.

BB has no track record as a manager and would, imo, be a little foolish in walking away from what appears to be a job that he is good at and enjoys. He would be better off letting it be known he is disappointed but getting on with his job as no 2. He could then keep his options open and apply for any managers positions that will inevitably come up soon.

I hope Booker stays and I can’t really see why he would leave. He has stayed before in situations not to dissimilar to the current one.

It will be good to have the managers position sorted – along as it is a decent choice who can take this club forward.

I can't seem him leaving myself. Can you imagine a club looking for a new manager, and going through applicants:

George Graham - won the championship & Euro Cup Winners Cup
Glenn Hoddle - ex-England manager
Bob Booker - no.2 at Brighton, didn't do well as manager

It's a tough choice eh
