You really shouldn't need help answering back to a plastic Man U fan from Lancing with 1 game under his belt.

Do you go to watch Brighton? Have you regularly been before this year? If so, he'/she's an idiot, ignore him/her. If not, they've got a point, regardless of whom they support.

I have been going a long time been to all 4 grounds and I have just ignored them oh well should get some sleep slowly turning delusion I starting claiming that everyone in bejing has an Oxford shirt and andy whing is like Wayne rooney over there

That would annoy me also. Ignore posts like this one below because it wouldn't matter that you may have never been to an Albion game before. If you live in Sussex and the Albion's is the first result you look for, then you are a true fan. Plastic fans are those that support the Premiership big boys with no real link to 'their' club. They don't get more plastic than Man utd fans.

Brighton don't have as many plastic fans as some people on NSC will have you to believe.

Does a true fan of Lewis Hamilton attend his every race? Does a true fan of Andy Murray travel the world to watch him? Of course not.

True fans watch their heroes on TV. Most Albion fans just follow "their club" because it happens to be local. That's just unimaginative. Albion fans just don't have any grasp of the scale of the world of sport. Pathetic, really.

I've never seen Mike Cavendish race his bike. That didn't stop me voting for him as Sports Personality of the Year, once I'd been told what he'd achieved.

A great antidote to the I'm-so-worthy and you-poor-thing posts here! :)

Has he taken up racing his bike on foot rather than riding it?

The OP isn't talking about sport in general and he isn't talking about sport on a global scale; it's football in England, it's visceral and it's passionate!

He's talking about the sport that is closest to the majority of peoples hearts, certainly what most of us on NSC care about most.

You describe how receptive you are to individual sporting achievements. Well, although that's laudable it also comes across as self serving, sanctimonious, and totally missing the point. You're not feeling the heat from some plastic prick of a wind up merchant who's goading you about your team.

So what if "most Albion fans" follow their local team? They're passionate and they care.

Get off your high horse

for a start i'm pretty sure lord bracknell's post is a windup, and as for this " You're not feeling the heat from some plastic prick of a wind up merchant who's goading you about your team. " if you cant deal with that sort of thing , you really, really need to man up and grow a pair ffs.

I can deal with it, I'm supporting the OP's predicament.

It sounds like you're well on the way to growing a pair yourself, your post has made you look a right tit, you just keep working on the left one.

At the risk of (a) being accused of being a right tit myself, and (b) being seen to agree with bushy, can I say that I agree?

THIS ONE HUNDRED MILLION TIMES OVER. I have no idea where this " I dont go and watch them so I am a PLASTIC fan" comes from that Brighton fans seem so quick to trot out.

WTF does it matter if someone doesnt go and watch their team.....how does it affect you? so someone gets involved in banter so f***ing what
