Fantastic, although we went 20 years ago, before they stated building fancy hotels with pools etc - who needs a swimming pool when you've got the Indian Ocean?
been twice and may go agin this year or next. love it
no mossies where i went . you dont tend to get them as they are little islands. not huge amount to do so you better like snorkling. go all inclusive as the drinks and food are expensive.
We went a couple of years back for our honeymoon. It was lovely. If you want a holiday where nothing really happens then this is probably it. Its up to you how much or little you do.
As for mozzies, our island was sprayed every day at 5pm. We were advised to go to a bar at one end of the island where it didn't need spraying, or stay indoors for 10 mins. My missus who gets mozzie bitten wherever she goes, wasn't bitten once there so it must work! As somebody pointed oit, go all inclusive - you will spend more if you try and half board it, as even the soft drinks aren't cheap. If I could afford it, i'd go again.
Depends on what island you go to, and what you want on the island. Some are tiny (walk round the island in 15 mins), whereas some are more like Butlins or 18/30.
Been there 4 times and never heard any mozzies, let alone bitten by any.
Fantastic watching the fruit bats, just watch out for the fruit they drop from the trees!
Great snorkelling/diving.
Been during Dec and it was very wet some days.
Filitheyo Island in the south atoll...Wonderful small island.nothing to do but snorkel, drink, eat and sexy time...great. Went end of April and the weather was hot,hot,hot.....Long journey with 2 plane trips followed by sea plane and then finally boat..It is the best holiday experience.enjoy!!
