After the police escort finished we ended up watching the second half of the Crawley game at a pub in Handsworth.
Bit of an eyeopener............

Handsworth, Brum? Or Handsworth, Sheffield? Brum I guess.

It's a fascinating place. My brother-in-law used to live there.

Handsworth, Brum.

Went to an Asian owned pub, by accident, The Cross Guns, but made to feel very welcome, but a strange experience, it was like a foreign country.

I used to live up the road from there! I'm glad you had an enjoyable-ish time there, but it wouldn't be on any of my list of recommendations tbh.

It seems a bloody strange choice of venue (I take it you came off the M5 at J1?). I can only presume you weren't aware of the much closer West Bromwich town centre - which has plenty of pubs that would've been showing the game too. Would've been easier on the parking front 'n' all. Still, it's an experience innit.

The corner caffs in Handsworth are great places to eat. And very, very cheap.

One very good reason for wanting to be in the same division as West Bromwich Albion next season.
