Kenny brings down Freedman in the penalty area, Freedman has to go off injured!

Penalty missed.

Paddy Kenny injured in goal for Sheff Utd... no sub keeper, Jagielka goes in goal.

Sheff Utd 2-0 up.

Michael Brown sent off for a professional foul with 3 defenders (allegedly) behind him somehow.

Altercation on halfway line between all the players sees the game go mental.

Palace get another penalty and score it.

Final score 2-1

Warnock allegedly makes clenched fist gestures to Palace fans and one of them (again allegedly) tries to get at him to smack him one. Steve Kember is also fuming with the ref.

Warnock led away by police.

Sounds fun! :lolol: BR, how much of this is true?

Even more amusing is that apparently Freedman dived for the penalty, and got himself injured and couldn't carry on!

Sorry, gotta laugh at that one

for a lot of palace games i tend to remain relatively calm, but every time, sheffield united manage to bring the worst out in me! tonight was an utter disgrace, a farce which the referee had absolutely no control over whatsoever. to outsiders it is difficult to explain exactly what it is about warnock, but everything about him just grates so badly! lets look at everything which went on tonight, from either the officials or united:

over physical challenges from the defence throughout, especially morgan, leading to knocks and injuries.

milking injuries and every break in play

ref allowing united players to intimidate him

blatent penalty on symons not given

tonge not sent off for foul on aj

kozluk being a •••• with the three balls

someone from the united bench kicking another ball onto the field of play

warnock's over eager celebrations inciting the crowd

I think the phrase found on one of the threads on the Palace BBS saying "Warnock needs to be put in a blender" typifies the mood :lolol:

How about our game last night then Wilts? Did you happen to see it on Sky?

Cardiff City 4 Derby County 1

Cardiff goal 1: A total fluke (a deep cross by Alan Lee that the Derby keeper flapped at and missed in the style of David Seaman).

Cardiff goal 2: A penalty, the award of which was very dodgy to say the very least (John Robinson producing an impressive dive at just the right moment).

Then a Derby player goes nuts and gets himself sent off just before half time.

Derby goal: Bad defending from us, no surprise there. But a perfectly good goal.

Cardiff goal 3: The two Cardiff players involved (Lee and Earnshaw) were both standing at least 10 yards offside, but the goal was allowed to stand because the ball just might have come off a Derby player last (nobody seemed sure).

Cardiff goal 4: A header from a corner that almost certainly didn't cross the line, but the linesman thought it might have done, so a goal was given anyway.

That's entertainment!

:lolol: :lolol: :lolol:

I did see it LB, was in a pub with a Man City supporting mate and couldn't believe what I was seeing! I think the Sky commentators couldn't believe it either!

But I did think Cardiff were the better team, and that they annihilated Derby better than we did. We sat back in our second half, which was an error when 3-1 up. Should have kept on at them like you did, so our score was only 3-2.

Reading vs Ipswich on the opening day:

1) We go 1-0 up

2) Shorey gets sent off for being fouled (!) Apparently a professional foul with 2 men behind him!

3) Ref adds on 3 minutes of stoppages that should have been 2.

4) In the 5th minute of time added on (!!) Magilton dives in the area with Murty around a yard away from him, ref gives penalty.

5) Final score 1-1. Seething.

Lets hope Lady Luck balances things out over the season!

Maybe, but it evens itself out.

We lost at home to Bradford 0-2 a fortnight ago in a game that we probably should've won 3-0 or 4-0, but the ball just wouldn't go in for us, while Bradford scored with two wonderful 25 yard plus belters from just three shots on our goal in the whole 90 minutes.

Last night a bit of luck went our way. Which was nice.

And we were MUCH better than Derby anyway.
