Lunchtime Beers

You can't beat a couple of lunchtime beers on a friday.

Just sunk a couple in the Nelson with Safeway and a few work colleagues set up nicely for a lazy afternoon of avoiding work.

Anyone else in the same boat cruising alonmg till home time?

I remember my days at American Express. We used to have 45mins luch break and we would regularly neck 3-4 pints in the Thurlow on a Friday. The afternoons were a complete write-off. Unfortunately it was the dark pre-internet days of the 80's so we were bored rigid waiting for the Amex social club to open at 5.

Good times.

god the Amex social club, I remember going there a few times, it was like a stampede of half cut techies charging at the place, 4:59 every friday

The Amex social club, when the Missus used to work there i was at the door ready to meet her and get well and truly lashed, she regulary m,anaged to sign half of my mates in aswell for cheap booze before hitting the town.

well what do you know, im about to go to the Amex bar with my boss who is paying us an hours overtime to go to the pub, and buy us a drink.

It was the only place in town open before 5.30. Also it you could drink there all afternoon on Xmas eve pre allday drinking. Marvellous scenes. Does anyone remember the little Hitler who ran the bar. Terry Marshall? Definitely suffered from small man syndrome.
