Where do you recomend for delicious value for money sandwich / baguette / jacket spud or something a bit different for lunch.

Been using Sandwich Express on Dorset Street, its ok, but nothing special and the jackets are tiny

Does this mean you are in Kemp Town?

Would strongly recommend a trapse across to Spaghetti Junction in Preston Street (near the top). Suggest a mozzarella, bacon and avocado panini. Home made soup, home made pizza and pasta, sarnies / baguettes / focaccia / ciabatta - the works.

I go there myself nearly every day. Need I say more?

Top nosh, and the owner has lovely big baps. :D

Fill Eze just off St James Street, next to the Queens Head. Go there, you will not regret it. Promise.

as 10cc say, not in hove
yum yums closed down about 4 months ago lord b...it's now reopened as a somewhat overpriced japanese noodle and ramen bar. £8 for a teryaki chicken! not highly recommended.

why not try bagelman? the new one in church road is pretty good (if amazingly slow service) and i think there's one on church street

Jeez, that's bad news about Yum Yums. The yuppification of the North Laine is unstoppable, I guess.
Is the Tamarind Tree in Queens Road still open? If you want REALLY slow service, that's the place. I doubt whether they wake up in time to open for lunch, though. Superb food, btw.

Well, I braved the endless rain and strolled down to St.James's Street to try Fill 'Eze. Got myselft a Jacket with beans, very tasty, good size and good value at £2...... good choice.

Nice blonde serving too ;)

Uggggh!! When it stopped raining I went down London Road, I had to go to Maplins to get some cables so I thought I'd get a sandwich at a baker's called 'Seebake' which I go to sometimes.

Not any more. It's been closed down, sign on the door said there was poor saintation and a rat infestation! I wondered what the 'special ingredient' was in the ham salad rolls.
