Seems Sheffield Wednesday have made a £250,000 for Stockport's Beckett. I think he would do a great job for us. How about matching it Mr Knight?
Story:
Sheffield Wednesday boss Chris Turner has confirmed the club have made a cash bid for Stockport striker Luke Beckett.
Sheffield-born Beckett is still under contract at Edgeley Park and Turner revealed Wednesday chairman Dave Allen had put in an offer of £250,000 for the 26-year-old.
"We have offered Stockport £250,000 for Luke Beckett and we are waiting for their answer," said Turner.
"The offer was made by Dave Allen over the weekend, chairman to chairman.
"Beckett is a player who scores goals and we would like to bring him into our squad. He's got two years to run on his contract, but we feel we've made a fair offer in today's market.
"We have been looking at one or two players we're interested in, but our first priority is Luke Beckett and then if nothing materialises we will look elsewhere."
