Lucky escape from a parking attendant....

Earlier today I was parked up behind the London Road shops (where Maplin is and all that) in a voucher bay. As I didn't have any vouchers I thought I'd just run to the shop I needed to and get back as quick as possible.

Well I was quick but when I got back to the car a parking attendant was standing there. I ran over and said "Am I too late?" He says, with a roll full of paper in his hand "My printer is broken, I have done the ticket but can't print it. Just go!".

I thought that's what he was doing but instead he was fumbling around with the paper. Oh well lost out on that bit of commission buddy!

Apparently Brighton is second in the whole country (only Birmingham is higher) in the number of tickets issued.
52% of tickets appealed have been successful.

My sister in law parked in a LIDL car park which had no attendants but a camera as you enter and one as you leave. The shopping limit is 2hrs and no return within 2 hrs she was photographed leaving the car park 2hrs 20 mins after entering it.

She accepts that she overstayed the time and expected a ticket but no ticket and then 5 days later a fine for £85 for over staying the time limit if paid within 7 days if not the fine rose to £170.

My brother contacted the company and said that he wished to appeal against the severity of the fine and was told that he could if he wished but the time still elapsed to the higher rate after 7 days.

newhaven is getting just as bad. newfield rd is a joke, one side is restricted parking but there were no signs saying when the restriction are, then all of a suden (over a weekend) signs went up and everyone that parked there on friday was given tickets on saturday



while i was parking my van this evening someone was up a step ladder taking them down! aint got a clue whats happening now
