I've just put this bet on.......

Fulham to be relegated
Reading to be promoted
QPR to be promoted
Huddersfield to be promoted

£20 pays just over £3000

What does anyone think?

There is no way Reading will be promoted - you may as well have handed the mony over free.

There's some pretty good value on bets like this. I'm not too sure about Reading myself but they seem to be buying well. I think Fulham will really struggle this season. They fell apart a bit at the end of last season and they haven't added anyone to their squad. It will add a bit of interest for me next year - I just hope we don't play QPR in the playoff final if all my other predictions have come in!

Fulham will struggle depends on the others who were promoted.

Dark horse this season may well be Birmingham City

did you track down best odds for that?

if so, save me some time and let me know where I'll have a tenners worth and maybe another tenner swapping Reading for *ahem* Cardiff

At 67-1 (William Hill), i reckon BZ to be top scorer is worth a tenner e/w

Save your money PS. We've got no chance of promotion whatsoever. Hammam won't be throwing any more money around until our new ground is rubber stamped, and that could be many months away yet.

Our current squad will struggle to stay in Division One, let alone get promoted to the Premiership.

Four pre-season games so far, all against pretty poor opposition. Scores: 2-2, 0-0, 1-0, 0-0. Scorers: Earnshaw 3 (1 pen).

I know pre-season friendlies are not a reliable form guide, but the reports from reliable sources have suggested that nothing has changed since the end of last season. There was a reason we finished sixth in Division Two last year. It's coz we're not very good.

:( :nono: :(

Hi LB.

Where do you think you will end up next season?

May be worth a bet on the spread.

I think you'll be about 13- 15th which isn't bad.

Alright Buzza!

The answer: to be honest, I haven't a clue! But the top six is out of the question, no doubt about that.

I would've thought a couple of places above the relegation zone would be about right. The current squad would certainly go straight back down if it was left as it is, without a shadow of a doubt, but I should imagine it will be strengthened before too much longer.

Lawrence has made numerous bids for some decent players this summer, but most of them (Hulse, Hall, Morris, etc) have ended up at Premiership clubs. I expect him to lower his sights a little and bring in a few tried and tested First Division players in the next couple of weeks.

I honestly wouldn't regard us a betting medium at all this season. We won't go up (I'm 100% certain of that), but although he has said he won't be throwing any more big money around until our new stadium is confirmed, I can't imagine that Hammam would let us go back down either. I should think he'll spend money if he has to.

At the moment, the 14/1 that is still available about us getting relegated is the most attractive bet on offer but, as I've said, I expect a few new players to arrive soon, so no bet would be the current advice!

Reading - to be promoted. Could happen but the odds aren't good enough for me to bet (6/1 is far too low).

Champions - not in a million years. However this is the year of spending at the Madstad, but I don't reckon we'll come in the top two unless we really do spend a lot. Playoffs again would be good.

I'd have a bet on Northampton for Division 3, or maybe even Yeovil.

I'm really struggling to find a decent football bet of any sort this year. I haven't seen anything that has captured my imagination at all.

Never mind though. In a couple of weeks the bookies will be offering prices on all sorts of silly pre-season 'specials'. There's usually one or two of those that are worth getting involved in.

I agree. I thought QPR were a decent price when you could get them at 8-1 a few weeks back, but 4s isn't tempting. Chelsea could still be value in the Premiership, they were already a good team to start with but choking is widely predicted. With nothing obvious it's that time of year when you need to know your Scottish Division Two. Back to Wimbledon dogs it is, then.

The return looks good to me, that combination is a reasonable possibility imo.

If I wanted to replace Fulham with Man City any idea what the payout on the combination would be, with £20.00 bet?
