Pressuming that this is on the Saturday, anyone planning to go on the train, be warned, in the evening the whole thing turns into a nightmare as Captain Chaos is out to play on the East Coast Mainline. The most direct route is via Newark, however all GNER services are terminating in Peterborough and then you have to get a local service back into London. There maybe another way of getting there on Midland Mainline, but still trying to work it out. Shite draw and shite travelling by the looks of things and we have to put up with that muppet and his air raid siren.....

Hove, f***ing ACTUALLY.
As Mrs Rougvie is from Grantham we were hoping that the Grantham game may be played on the Sunday so we could make a weekend of it in Grantham as it is only 20 or so miles from Lincoln.

Uncle Buck is spot on with the trains tho, although to make it EVEN worse the services for Lincoln do not go from Newark Northgate which is the GNER station but from Newark 'central' (the place is no bigger than shoreham !!) which is on a completely different line and is about a 20 min walk from Northgate or a 10 min cab ride.

The whole thing is a logistical nightmare from start to finish before you even add the manditory engineering works !

Looks like the old vroom vroom to me.

Not only that, the bloody trains from Brighton to Bedford terminate in some shithole, so to get to Kings Cross you need to go to London Victoria and then get the tube.

Most modern coaches have toilets now.

Why not get some quotes from local firms for 44 seater coaches and work out a price. I'm sure someone could organise it.

I can drive to Lincoln easily enough whilst still in Yorkshire but I don't want to be there by myself

Pleased it's not at home - I will be in Barcelona to see the Betis game.

Still - a good chance to progress to round two.

I think that it will be on the Saturday, cannot see it being a Sky game, however with Orient playing at Grantham that day, you see BTP or Lincs OB saying one of the games should be an early kick off.

Regarding coaches, great in principle, but you cannot drink on them.....

and whyever not?!!

Ask Maggie Thatcher, she banned alcohol being drunk on coaches while on the move. So in fairness it's down to the opinion of the coach driver. If he says no beer it means no beer or the coach won't go.

then we just use a 'friendly' coach company.

as i said, the only time ive taken the coach to a game there were crates upon crates of booze being sunk.

the only thing the driver objected to was the inflatable toy fight on the m23 and pulled the coach over and gave us a good telling off! :lolol:
