Okay we've had yet another 'most hated clubs thread, why not try something positive. Not with standing any predudices with elements of a clubs support these are the teams I admire.

1) Millwall, for their seemingly successful attemps to get rid of their yob image. It's cost them a lot but they have tried.

2) Manchester City, having lived in the shadow of Manure so long I find their fans faithful and genuine.

3) Leeds Utd, friendly and supportive yet still faithful to their cause despite being screwed over by their previous administration.

4) Wimbledon FC, not the Milton Keynes fiasco. Achieved so much and survived in the face of so many difficulties.

5) Just about any so called 'small' club who've kept going despite the bigs boys attempts to take everything, they're the lifeblood and bread and butter of out national game.

This is probably more contentious than clubs we dislike, someone is sure to come up with comments of "why do you like that lot"?

There are plenty of teams that I can honestly say I feel absolutely nothing for, but just a few who I do not begrudge a bit of success, as long as it isn't at the expense of the Albion.

1. Charlton - always had a soft spot for them, guess there are so many links between the teams over the years, see them as the acceptable face of London football. I believe they are about to extend their ground to hold 40k, hopefully that will give them the clout to challenge for the title of third biggest club in the capital, after the other two.

2. Brentford - family ties to the club, would have followed them if I had stayed in the county of my birth (Buckinghamshire) and not moved to Sussex at the age of 5, always look out for their results.

3. Exeter City - quite simply the most friendly place I have ever been to watch a football match, the Devonian charm extends a fine welcome to all visitors, I would love to see them back in the league again.

4. Doncaster Rovers - their club and fans supported us in our darkest hour, we reciprocated in theirs. It has been said that you can choose your friends but not your family, Donny feel like both. Putting it very simply, they were our last opponents at the Goldstone and "MUST" be our first when we get to Falmer.

5. Clydebank - I know they don't really exist any more, or at the moment, but you have to respect people who support a team against the odds in a country where the big few totally dominate and suffocate the rest. Hopefully they can rise again like a pheonix from the ashes.

Just goes to show, I didn't even think about any of the above. I so like Charlton becuase they were down and out but hey, have they come back or what ? My top London club certainly.

Donny, what can you say about Donny ? Like Hull, nearly went to the wall but thankfully still here.

In no particular order:

Arsenal. Lots of people dislike them. I don't. They play stylish football. They're entertaining. They're successful. And they do it all on a budget that's half the size of Man Ure's and a fraction of Chelsea's. In terms of spending on players, they rank about 10th in the Premiership, about the same level as the likes of Birmingham City and less than Liverpool, Newcastle and Tottenham. And IMHO Arsenal aren't much bigger than the likes of fellow London clubs Tottenham and West Ham. Yet for some reason they've consistently been a successful team. You've got to admire that.

Charlton. For obvious reasons.

Wrexham and Doncaster. Again, fairly obvious for Brighton fans.

Reading. I particularly don't like Madjeski, Pardew or the way they kept poaching our players and manager. I don't really have any real affection for or against Reading. But this thread is about respect and you've got to give credit to the way the club has turned around over the last decade or so and is one of the most financially sound clubs in the Football League.

I've always had a soft spot for Brentford. They just seem so real and friendly. When Noades was talking about moving them I thought he was mad. Maybe they do need better facilities but Griffin Park is a lovely little ground and a pub on every corner can't be bad. :drink:

fair point bhaexpress, I had forgotten Man City, have always found their supporters both friendly and knowledgeable, certainly not posessing any of the brashness or big-headedness of their neighbours in red, in fact most true Mancunians I have met supported city.

I might also have mentioned Stockport County another team that lives in the shadow of a large city but manages to keep going against the odds and the occasional poor choice of manager.

Bluejuice, your comment on Brentford makes me think about London as a whole, the west side of the city has a more laid back and somewhat genteel feel to it compared to the rest, I guess this is just reflected in the nature of their support.

Too close for comfort
Man City. Great entertainment value, quality support.

Sunderland. As above.

Aston Villa. Helped with the founding of CPFC. Cheers!

Crawley Town. A fun few years following the Reds home'n'away in very early 90s.

Portsmouth. Always great, atmospheric clashes. Apart from that twat with the bell I like their level of support.

Fiorentina. Saw Batitusta play for them. Not a great game, but a great weekend jolly with the boys in great city.

I forgot my second team, Wigan Atletic. I take my hat off to Dave Whelan, good work my man.

Believe AFC Wimbledon are on the verge of promotion to the Ryman Premier, should see them play Lewes/Eastbourne/Bognor the season after next.

Millwall, friendliest supporters, but not all of them.

The only other friendly supporter I have met was a Manchester United supporter from Manchester that took me to my first game at the Goldstone. So I suppose they must come top. That was somewhat mucked up by the violence at the Cup Final though.

The Chelsea hooligans were quite funny, but they were too thick.
