Just seen this in the supporters club email, not seen it mentioned on here yet.

I hope you don't mind me contacting you, Les (my father-in-law) was a member of your supporters club & as you are aware he unfortunately passed away last August.

As a family we are organising a memorial football match (Les RogersXI v Albion XI) at Woodside Road, Worthing, Sunday 27th March, k.o. 1.30pm.........all proceeds of the match are going to St Barnabas Hospice who cared so well for Les during his final couple of weeks.

Paul Rogers at the Albion & Martin Hinshelwood are both going to great lengths to ensure the match is a success and to ensure we get a large crowd to ultimately remember Les & also raise a lot of money in his name. Paul is organising the Albion side, he will be playing, hopefully along with some if not all of the following, Gus Poyet, Charlie Oatway, Richard Carpenter, himself, Ian Chapman, John Byrne, Mickey Adams, Dean Wilkins, John Keeley.....he is going to confirm his side to me in the next few weeks.................he is also going to request that as many of the current 1st team attend the match to sign autographs............Martin is going to help with Les's side, this will include some of Les's family (3 sons) &
predominately players that were coached by Les at the Centre of Excellence...........we are also going to have a raffle & auction (we are obtaining some signed football shirts & numerous other prizes (new laptop, a day at Brighton Races including 3 course meal & wine for 2), also 2 tickets to the highest bidder to any Arsenal home game next season, courtesy of Liam Brady........Gareth Barry was going to attend, but confirmed yesterday that he must remain with the England camp as
they are organising another friendly on the Tuesday, but he will provide a signed shirt & or tickets to a Man City game........

The Albion are helping with the advertising of the game & are processing posters/flyers to go around Withdean & many other places in Brighton/Worthing, also in the match programmes during march, over the tannoy & local radio & press are to be notified...........if you can make a mention in your magazine it would be very much appreciated..............this will be a great event that we really want to be a success & ultimately that means getting as many people to the ground as possible.......we are going
to charge £5 adult, £1children (Worthing are letting us have the ground free of charge), so for that sort of money we're hoping that people will want to come along as a mark of respect but also to see some Albion greats past & present.

Any help from yourselves would be greatly appreciated by Les's family!

Thank you for your time!
