Can't agree that Ridsdale was right to gamble: he's put the future of the entire club at risk.
As the programme last night revealed, Leeds at one point had six top strikers, what was the point of that? You can only play a couple of them at a time. Most businesses use their assets but in a football club, every player in excess of the 16 needed for the team is a wasted asset. Of course, they need some more to cover injuries and suspensions, but the principle remains - they had too large a squad to survive financially.
Does anyone know what the exact financial benefits of being in the Champions League are? For Leeds's plan to make sense, they had to taking in about £35m to £40m a season from the CL - is it really this valuable just to enter?
Ridsdale's other mistake was the way that he financed the expansion, through a bond issue. This is OK, if things go well, but is crippling if something goes wrong.

It was not Ridsdales to gamble. It was a disgrace and he should be prevented from going anywhere near another club.

From a Seagull in Leeds, The club owns Elland Road not the ground, if they go down they could liquidated and will not go into Administration. The club realistically have no major assets! Eddie Gray (new caretaker manager) is and always has been a fans favourite and was David O'learys no.2
The fans here feel here will get the team working together again and COULD turn it around.(There are still alot of points available)
The club IS in the S***, I have heard today O'leary is being linked for a return, if his happens I can IMHO say the ground will fill again wek to week with the good possibilty of them staying up.
Personally I want them to go down as my girlfriens has a pub and is going to deck it out in Seagulls flags etc next Season !!

Eddie Gray has always been Leeds through and through.
I remember going to his testimonial. (remember my first husband was a Leeds fan)
If anyone can pull the team and club through this then he will.

If the rumours are true of David O'Leary being linked and if he keeps Eddie Gray as his no.2 (as he had in champions league days) rather than Brian Kidd IMHO you may see Leeds start to climb again.
I still want them to go down, to go Elland Road imy blue and white stripes would be ace!!
I'll be happy also to advise people what bars to meet and where to avoid!
