Anyone listen to Laura's Diary on Scott Mills' show? There's a girl I work with who I give a lift to in the morning that has just found her college diary and is going bring it with her to entertain us on our way to work. Does anyone know what the theme tune is to Laura's Diary as I want to get a download to set the scene. Think it was used by Steve Wright years ago for Our Tune or something like that.

Doh! I thought this was going to be about our Laura's innermost secrets. :(

Just found it. Theme from Romeo & Juliet by Henry Salomon. Just need to find a download now. Laura's Diary is one of the funniest things I've heard for a long time. Her comment about going back to see Ben and 'must remember to shave' almost made me crash the car.

I reckon they should turn Lauras' Diary into a film, far more interesting than Frigid Jones!

What's the concept then?

Does Laura work on the show and they read out her diary from when she was younger??

Yes, Laura works on the show and her sister found her diary. Every day she calls up and reads a bit more. They started when she was about 13/14, we've gone through the college years and are now onto the university years. On at 5:15 every day.
Classic from the first series when she was at a school fundraiser for the homeless when they spent the night in cardboard boxes - 'I was talking to John(?) all night and holding his hand, then he came in my box'. Could not be scripted any funnier.

Sounds quite fun. I'd give it a listen if radio 1 ever played any real music during the day.

That's the thing about Scott Mills. He's probably got the worst taste in music of all the Radio 1 DJs (and that's saying something) but the comedy stuff with Chappers is hilarious.

Did anyone hear the bit where he phoned the angry Scottish bloke who runs a take-away pizza joint, pure genius, easily the rudest man in Britain. Phoned him up and asked for a pizza with liver on it, bloke says we don't do one like that, Scott says "but it says you de-liver on your take-away menu", cue bloke spitting feathers.

That was so funny - loved when they found the rudest woman on aswell and put them on the line talking to one another- hilarious!!!

Didn't hear the one with the rude woman but thought that what they subjected Mr McAngry to bordered on victimisation, regardless of how funny it was.

I loved the one where they used Tom Baker-voiced text message recordings.

TB "My name is Norma"
Angry Sweaty "Norma what?"
TB "Stits"
AS "Norma Stits?" *cue comedy pause whilst the penny drops... "Agghhh, you **** *** ****** ***** ***"

I cried blood!!!!

p.s 1 sketch I liked was where a bloke had to get his bro's gf to say to him 'I love you' to win a prize. The show secretly rang her up to tell her what he was about to do. So when he rang, he had a normal chat, at the end he said 'I love you' to her, to which her response was 'I love you too, I've felt this way along time about you'. She went on about it for 2 minutes saying they should run away etc. At this point the bloke was terrified and confessed all. She confessed as well. Totally had me in stitches.

Laura's Diary is laugh out load stuff it really is. Certainly keeps me entertained on the way home. Taken me a while to get to like Mills' show as he used to be a fairly cheesey commercial type DJ, but I now find his show well funny.

One of my favourites was when he used the Homer Simpson clips to call Argos Direct.

"Hello Argos Direct, what's the catalogue number"
And then he types it in on the keypad....over and over...

:lolol:
