[Technology] Laptop problems

My laptop has stopped connecting to the WiFi.
I've tried Windows Network Diagnostics and the troubleshooting has completed.
The problems found is,

The Realtek RTL8822CE 802.11ac PCle Adaptor is experiencing driver-or hardware-related problems.
Any help to a technophobe would be much appreciated.

Thanks, did consider that but my phone and my wife's laptop are working fine.

the Windows Network Diagnostics is about as much use as Locadia as a footballer. possibly less.

other than confirming the wireless is working, try reinstalling the drivers for the stated device.

Quite often, my laptop doesn't connect to my wifi. I get the little world type icon rather than the radar thingy in the bottom bar. I have to click on the world icon to get a list of wifi networks in range, and click on mine, and "Connect". This always sorts it, until I turn off the laptop, and later turn it back on when I have to do this again.
Even though the "Connect automatically" box is ticked, it doesn't.

I am no laptop expert but my Wi-Fi often does not connect and I don’t see a list of available networks. Way I get round it is to

Settings
Network & Internet
Change Adaptor Settings
Then right click on the Wi-Fi adapter and disable
Then right click again to re-enable

And that then restores my Wi-Fi and see can available networks again. Don’t know what the problem is and although frustrating, it works for me

In Linux I had a weak wi-fi signal from my laptop and it would keep dropping in and out.

In terminal I used iwconfig to turn off the power management of the wi-fi card. That worked a treat.

If you're on Windows, then maybe there's something similar?, but I've no idea what that would be.

P.S. If the problem persists, you could always try a cheap USB wi-fi dongle to see if that works any better.

Delete the adapter and restart the laptop, it will rediscover it, and all should be OK

Last night mine was stuck on Airplane mode and wouldn't switch off.

I couldn't be doing with it then so turned it off and left well alone.


So a preempt tutorial would be nice if turning it off and on again hasn't succeeded.
