Only mongs slag him off. The reality is we are lucky to be witnessing the work of an albion legend every week. He'll be on the PODIUM when it comes to Player of the Season, which will show what the real fans think rather than the nsc specials.

Mongs and people who know a proper keeper when they see one and can tell when a keeper just plays up to the fans! ;)

There's no doubt that Kuipers is an excellent shot-stopper and Albion through and through, and we could do a lot worse than have him in goal. However, despite years of coaching, his game still has more holes in it than the proverbial swiss cheese.

What's tedious is the threads having a go at "kuipers haters" every time he has a good game.

I swear to god there's actually only one of them on NSC, and he's posting on this thread.

The vast majority either think he's amazing, or that he's a pretty decent keeper at this level.

Such as?

And don't say kicking. His goal-kicks and kicks from his hands are as good as any other league one keeper. The only thing I feel a little unsure with is when he has to deal with a back-pass under pressure. Other than that, I see no HOLE.

I'm going to say kicking, because it is STILL shit. Any kind of backpass to him is inviting catastrophe too. Also his erratic handling and coming out for crosses, occasional lunatic rushes out of goal and tendency to blame anyone but himself for all of the above. He also seems to have an almost Jens Lehmann-esque propensity to get wound up, whether it be by our players, the opposition, officials, or fans of either team. These of course can then lead to the above taking place.

As several others have stated in the past, is it not telling that at some stage, every single manager at this club (bar possibly Hinshelwood) has preferred another keeper to him?

Interesting that he made two good saves and the we quickly scored two goals - shows how games can change very quickly.

keepers come and keepers go but kuipers goes on forever

Been worth a good few points this season. More consistent than before and no injuries - possibly coming from the knowledge that he has no competition?

I would at least start next season the same and spend the money we have on buying Richards and Westlake and a winger who can cross the ball for Murray to score

Two fantastic saves yesterday that kept us in the game. Top keeping at any level. I don't think I would swap him for anyone else in our division. Credit where it is due.
