From the BBC site....

Rotherham have parted company with manager Alan Knill.

The Millers, who had 10 points deducted for going into administration are 13 points adrift of safety in League One after failing to win in 14 games.

A club statement said: "This action was not taken lightly, but it was felt that this was the only option considering our recent plight."

Mark Robins has been handed responsibility of team affairs for Saturday's game with Bradford.

Knill, who was in his second spell as manager of the club, has been manager of the club since December 2005.

He won just 18 of his 68 games in charge of the club.

All very sad really. Football clubs have to start taking responsibility for overspending and getting themselves into huge debt, leading to administration.

And the fans have a large part to play too. Getting behind the team, turning out on a Saturday, and they have the right to not be ripped off, sensible ticket prices, near enough full houses every week.

All clubs/fans have stories like "we used to get 20000 every week" the clubs need to get back to those statisitcs somehow.

They were doing ok until January when they sold their two best strikers for over a million quid.
It all boils down to money or lack of it.

Few out of work managers could say the same, do their Chairmen not realise the value of a goalscorer. eg Coventry and McSheffrey.

They were 4 million in debt so didn't have much choice.
