I heard that the McLeod deal would total £250k over several seasons. Sounds like HP to me!?!

No I didn't. I made a post saying that I was confident he would sign. I never said he has signed. Neither have you. Although I'm just pointing this out. You're not putting your neck on the line. You haven't said a deal is done. Everyone has different opinions.
