Just had the most delicious breakfast , 2 kippers , hot buttered toast & a pot of yorkshire tea to wash it down . Not had kippers for many a long month , forgot how tasty they were .

Is that near ditchling ? Never been but have heard about them. These were bought in McDuff , up on the Moray Firth .

Were they proper kippers with bones and all or the kipper fillets or even lower down the scale boil in the bag.

It is suggested that you should have 3 portions of oily fish per week so I alternate between kippers and smoked mackerel but mackerel seem to be getting dearer.

Kippers are great, but for breakfast heaven, a nice piece of smoked haddock with a poached egg on top for me. Fantastic!

The real crakers come from Portsoy, which I guess isn't far from you or Macduff (other side of the River Deveron from Banff?), so I guess the Macduff ones can't be bad either. With local knowledge, can you tell me what an Arbroath Smokie is? I've always wanted to know.
