At least four England football fans have been taken to hospital in Moscow following a fight in the Russian capital ahead of the Euro 2008 qualifier this afternoon.
There were some reports that as many as six England supporters had been injured.

Luzhniki Stadium in MoscowPolice spokesman Evgenii Gildeev said the injured fans had been taken to the Botkan hospital.

It was not immediately clear how serious their injuries were.

Mr Gildeev said they had been clubbing and drinking in central Moscow in the early hours of the morning and had apparently provoked a fight.

Were still getting blamed, The russians like every other country, cant wait to get the Englishman on there patch, Then mob up attack, brick, stab us, but somehow it always comes back that the Scum English are at it again!!
Quite simple really, we English have a mentality of if you got started on you do not run, that is just defending yourself.:drink::whisky::braders:

It seems like it is going to be similar to how trips to Poland used to be.

Yup.

We provoked it apparently

England fans being kept in for an hour tonight after the game, should still be interesting to see if the police can get rid of the Ruski's, as most of the England lot that travel nowadays dont want anything to do with trouble

Well the media love to blame us!!

The Russian police seem to be going for the lots of officers in riot gear approach, which normally means batton charging the English at some point...

We got the tram past as it was starting to kick off on some side street near the ground.

Nothing beats trips to Poland in the late 90's for the police just kicking the shit out of you for being English.

Why do people bother going?

Presumably you get points towards the big game tix? If not, sounds like a complete waste of time for all except the hoolies and their simpleton apologists.

In fairness most places are OK now. The last game in Poland (2004) passed without incident, partly as the FA did listed to complaints from the previous trips and also as the UK police do liaise closely with the local police. However for Russia, by all accounts the Russian police are not interested in what the UK police have to say and often that does cause issues.

As a rule going away with England is a good laugh. You get to go to some different places and it is as a rule trouble free these days.

Yea you get caps that go towards the tourney finals. All hoolies are banned and only a handful will get through the airports!

Sounds like your another clueless monkey brainwashed by the media!

That's a bit harsh considering I was only asking why people bother going if they know it's going to be nothing but trouble.

To be honest, I see as I find, and my only experience travelling with England has on the whole been rather pleasurable.

I spoke to someone in Moscow last night and apparently it's manic out there and I shouldn't be all that suprised if he ends up dead. Quote "They really, really don't like us here". I'm actually quite worried now.
