Woefully out of form this season and with Dean Saunders taking over at Wolves, maybe we could put in a cheeky bid for him. Think a change of club could be what he needs and Saunders could have a play with the money. Proven quality when he is on his game. An on form Kevin Doyle would surely fire us into the play offs???

Or maybe a change of manager was what Doyle needed.

We came really close to signing him years ago from his irish club. He went to Reading instead. Real shame as he turned out to be a decent striker.

Too short, can't hold up the ball. Not the target man we crave. Good player, just not the right man.

On the contrary, Doyle is SUPERB at holding the ball up. His work rate is unbelievable too - he's like CMS with touch.

He is 6ft, granted that is no Peter Crouch, but it no Leon Knight either. 6ft is big enough if you good enough. And he clearly is good enough, agree with the wages though. Surprised a prem club haven't taken him off their hands.

i reckon he has mammoth ass, like Dalgliesh, and in owner such a fleshy behind can hold defenders off with a surprising ease.
Probably rather out of our price and wage range though. He'll be on Jenkinson money.

He was outstanding at Reading, but now is in a very poor team.
If Saunders is a good man manager, it could fire him up again.
Probably on £ 25/30 k a week.

I don't understand this obsession that we need a big man. How many chances have CMS, Barnes, Hoskins etc missed this season? Shit loads. How many of those are because they weren't BIG enough?

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Leon Knight in his prime would have scored a hatful in this side. We don't need a target man, we need a predator. Someone who doesn't necessarily score too many difficult chances, but who never misses an easy one.

Would love to see him down here, always thought he could score goals at any level but might be a bit out of our range with wages etc.

Tell me, what would you say if Poyet signed a 'woefully out of form' striker who carrier on being woefully out of form for us, and didn't score any goals?

Let me guess, it would be something along the lines of 'Poyet has cost us promotion signing barn door Doyle' or something. Yet time and time again you talk as if it is easy to get a top striker in and seem to think that we have a divine right to a thirty goal a season man. And now you're suggesting we sign someone who is woefully out of form, and expensive.

Why?

6 foot? Am I thinking of the wrong person? The person on my head is a tiny little Irish bloke. Tiny.
