Just tried downloading the new Dido album for the wife and some evil tosspot has put screeches on all the tracks or they fade out after 20 seconds.

It looks like war has been declared

yeah i noticed that when trying to download songs by yeah yeah yeahs......... so i went and bought the album

If you want the new Dido album, there are places outside of Kazaa to download it, only the first 9 tracks are available so far as the advance copies only have the first 9 tracks. When I was trying to download it I found most of the tracks were actually thank you form the first album.

Also when the album comes out it is gonna be copy protected so you won't even be able to rip it to mp3 very easily.

BTW the new album is fantastic.

Seriously though, the record companies are getting down to it now and the gloves are off! Persoanlly I always check the file after it's downloaded about a quarter way so you can see if it's a good 'un or not. Not downloaded anything for a while though becuase it's WRONG.

Soulseek is good, Kazaa is good, it all depends what you are after I use both and have success in downloading stuff form both sources.

Pretty straight forward - first time it's good to have someone show you the ropes, but it's like riding a bike, once you've got it before you know you'll be well away and have the record industry suing you!
