Just Home!

Just got back to Reading after the match (some crappy roadworks en-route back to the M1 delayed me by about 45 mins) :(

Anyway nevermind about that what a great game, and as they say a game of two halves.

The first we scored and could have got more from a free header from cullip (best chance of the match) and maybe something better from weak Hammond shots (he needs to work on this) and a goalline (abeit a simple one) clearance after the keeper was lobbed.

Once again in the first half Leon had passion and it helped us emmencely and obviously King Virgo came up again with the match winning goods.

They looked dangerous getting in some great crosses in, but Dany and Hinch in the centre managed (sometimes just) to clear the lines.

Charlie was booked for a v.late challenge and then should have got a second in the second half but the ref (luckily) bottled it and just gave a foul. They had a great shout for a penalty on one cross where we blateantly pushed their defender, but luckily not spotted.

All in all I think the concensus was that we were good value at half time for the lead and we could have had a bigger margin.

Second half was completely different, not that we played bad, but just that we had our backs to the wall the whole time (this is probably what the forest fan on five live on the other thread was talking about).

Forest tried and tried but they just couldn't beat us down and when the defence was breached Kuipers on 3 seperate occasions made match winning saves that should keep him in the team once roberts is back in full health.

Forest seemed to always want to play a wide game which in the end got their fans on their back, and ultimately I'm sure gave us a better idea when defending as McGhee had previously commented on this as something we would need to be on top of.

Was a good albion tunout (never anygood at estimating so I won't bother) in reasonable voice too (especially as half the seats are open(ish) and the other under the 2nd tier where more noise can be generated. Must say forest were noisier than the last time we visited (although this time it wasn't £5 in for everyone, instead the full £25 which probably fended off the part timers that generated the library atmosphere from last time).

Another good away 3 points .... Cracking! :clap2: :clap2:

Anyway time for bed
