He is considering the implications of the developement on the rare " South Downs Ant ". A species only seen in the Falmer area with a population of an estimated 2 000 000 000 000 000.
A spokesman for the Falmer villagers said " We have no option but to throw this important factor into the arena at the 11th hour as all our other well researched objections appear to be falling on deaf ears ".
Prescott is expected at Falmer over the weekend to observe the ant colonies for himself and a decision is expected sometime in 2007 after reports from the World Ant Colony Academy have been obtained.
