Many many years ago, on a football team end of season tour in Amsterdam, it was one of the youngsters birthdays and we had a whip round. Even I was surprised by how much we raised, and someone negotiated for him to get something to remember for his birthday with three young ladies.

We told him we would be in the bar over the road when he had finished and went over to get a beer (maybe 9/10 of us).

He appeared back through the door before the barman had finished pouring the round. 'For christ's sake, at least tell us for that money, you took your socks off '
