Given is more than likely going to miss the start of next season it seems with the injury he picked up yesterday, Man City want Hart back next year but I would assume that as soon as Given is fit he will more than likely re claim his number 1 spot, If you were Joe Hart would you stay and fight at City or Move in the Summer to a potentialy smaller club but get first team football.

I hope for Englands sake he does move in the summer and doesnt do a Ben Foster and ruin his career

I would rate Given as the 2nd best keeper in the premiership behind Gomes, with very little to chose between Van Der Sar, Czec and Hart.

on his day Gomes is outstanding but still prone to silly errors. For consistency I don't think Given can be bettered so I'm surprised City fans are critical. Hart IMO deserves a chance as England No1.

Current form puts Gomes and Hart well up, but that is just this season. Gomes is the reason Spurs are challanging for 4th and Hart is the reason Birmingham haven't worried about relegation. But when you look at consistancy the best have to be Van Der Sar followed by Czec

Just what i was thinking as well, in terms of the last couple of seasons, Reina has been very good.

Man City have asked the Premier League if they can signa goalkeeper on loan why? They should be told to either call back from loan the ones they have lent out, who they considered to not be good enough for their team or make do with what they have. Obviously they considered their No 2 at the moment who came on for Given to be good enough to deputise for him so what has changed with his injury. Have they re-evaluated him following his performance against Arsenal when he came on.

They don't have a recall clause in the Hart loan deal, so can't bring him back, and Stuart Taylor is injured. They only have one fit senior 'keeper and precedent suggests that they will be allowed to bring in another. Ideally of course that would be a reserve to sit on the bench while their guy plays, but that's (I would have thought) an unenforcable rule.

What about recalling Richard Martin from Yeovil? It would be wrong if they were allowed to bring in somebody like Paul Robinson from Blackburn or Tim Howard from Everton who have nothing to play for.
