"Brighton have handed a trial to Motherwell youngster Jevan Beattie.

The young striker - son of former Scotland frontman Craig Beattie - is training with the English Premier League’s development team. The Seagulls have been running the rule over him this week. The teenager has come through the Fir Park ranks but has yet to commit to professional terms. Beattie has previously impressed and been offered a deal by Sheffield United."
