It's very easy to do that unlike somebody who is a full time employee where it can be dragged out for months.
Most of these presenters are contractors, which should be clear in the case here where he was working for a effective competitor live when the story broke
That alone would usually be enough to get rid of someone.
Because the BBC publish his income band, I assumed that meant he’s on the payroll.
The BBC don’t reveal the amount paid to contractors.
Edit. His £195k pay was directly with the BBC for football. A separate undisclosed contract as an employee of The One Show production company.
