f*** me, have we turned this entitled after a few half decent seasons? I would be very happy to see Moder get a contract extension, he’s hardly had a run since returning from injury and he is a decent player who has not reached his peak yet. Good squad player amd who knows, if he stays fit, could be a good player for us this season. All the incomings are unproven in the PL

A new contract protects his value for us. New contract, go out on loan for a year and play regularly, he then gets sold.
Or am I missing something?

He's still only 25 years old and missed a whole season due to injury.

He was showing promise prior to his injury, so it makes sense to extend his contract and either give him an opportunity here or send him on loan to get a full season under his belt.

Then if we decide to sell him, his value should be higher than it is now but I am sure the club would prefer he develops into a starting player for us!

Not often I criticize an account for a basic lack of football knowledge and perhaps this is a parody account and I’ve misunderstood but Moder is a “baller”
I suspect they are simply a troll. No one could be as stupid as they pretend to be. This mixed with gratuitous insults to Brighton players suggests a Palace fan trying to be provocative. Best to just ignore their nonsense.

Who would you leave out of the final squad?
Personally, I don’t think he’s close to being good enough, as someone else highlighted his injury couldn’t have come at a worse time, and he is now some distance behind others. A shame, but in reality for the good of his career he should move on.

Missed a season and when back under RDZ not really given a run in the team, in his preferred position.

A big plus, he is a far better free kick taker than Dunk, very good at keeping the ball moving, and prior to his injury was vey unlucky in not getting a number of goals, given the number of times he hit the woodwork, or the keeper made a once in a season save.

Would be a good squad player and certainly able to step up, if a regular was hot with a long term injury.

Yup, I think he is a solid squad man....

Well as I haven’t really got to grips with FHball I have no idea what the final squad will be, so can’t answer the question.

If you can give me what you think will be the 25 man squad I’ll give you an answer :lolol:

Leyton, E10.
As a Wieffer type midfielder (deep lying playmaker and defensive midfielder) or O’Riley/Rutter type (goals, assists, creativity, power and strength).
I actually feel like Moder is more of a leaner, taller, faster gross / lallana figure.

Even post injury has recorded one of the fastest sprints in the PL (allegedly) and has played successful roles at LW and LWB as well as more centrally.

"While Jakub Moder might have only played 17 times for Brighton this season, he hasn't been afraid to show exactly what he's capable of. The Polish international clocked 36.84 km/h during the 23/24 term, making him the fastest midfielder to play this campaign" - Give Me Sport

The Athletic reported a few weeks ago that Moder (and Dahoud) were not in Hurzeler's plans for the season.

I don't know if that's true but he is obviously under pressure to trim his squad. He says he likes working with "22-25 players".
And they have to be fair to players if its likely they're not likely to feature much this season and given them time to seek other opportunities. He said as much in the press conference yesterday (but not about a specific player).

I'd like him to move on. Not a bad player just don't he will make us any better than 11th and would rather he went than Billy.

Some of the bilge on here is sad to read. Give your heads a wobble and sing yourself a song “Tony bloom went to Poland……”. Moder is a magic man and much more importantly he’s our magic man.
