Been written off a couple of times and come back better.

I think he'll surprise again
Agreed. It really isn't that unusual for players to recover from ACL injuries or long absences out these days and then return to regular PL football / and previous form.

Moder strikes me as exactly the sort of player a team like Leeds should be trying to get. Very versatile, good experience for his age. I'd hope it would be a loan though so we can play hardball at the end of it. 😃
He'll be out of contract at the end of a season long loan.

I suspect still, that March is done as far as regular PL is concerned, once fully recovered, he may change roles.... don't know what, maybe start a coaching journey, maybe a loan....who knows.
Could be the case that he gets some game time in the CM role.

He's a great attacking player, but with an incredible work rate and solid enough defensively.

Would also help him if he has lost a little bit of pace from the injury.

I hope so. The incidents with him and Mwepu were tragic and felt like they went under the radar in how much they detailed our midfield. If Moder can get back to where he was before injury, which I happen to believe is far from his potential, then he'll be an important component to our squad.

its an interesting one.

Even pre injury and the best I've ever seen Moder ....... I still don't think he is the level we are hoping with these new signings.

Top champ potentially would benefit all parties

Hard to see him staying although I think he has the stature and skills to understudy the Wieffer role.
He absolutely needs to be working on that role on training. We’ve seen enough of him higher up the pitch to know he’s not going to make it as an attacking midfielder in a top 10 team, but his physical profile lends itself nicely to the position Wieffer plays, or in a double pivot. He will need to work on his intricate passing and ability to receive on the half turn though.

As a Wieffer type midfielder (deep lying playmaker and defensive midfielder) or O’Riley/Rutter type (goals, assists, creativity, power and strength).

He was out in Mallorca(?) with all the other injured players -- eg Pervis -- when the squad went out to Japan. Delighted to be able to divulge a FACT to you.
It was Marbella and yes, I know, as that was the post I was responding to in my post #762.

As I say, I haven't actually seen ANY reporting that he had an injury. It would have been entirely possible, for instance, that if we were looking to move him on we might have decided not to take him to Japan but send him to Marbella with those other players. Instead, it seems he WAS actually injured - and now he's back.

Nice guy but he's crap. We have ballers all over the pitch now, time to ditch the trash.
It is a squad game, and he's a useful option.

Not everyone on the pitch has to be a 'baller'. And even if they did, he's better technically than Milner, Igor, and a few besides.

A new contract protects his value for us. New contract, go out on loan for a year and play regularly, he then gets sold.
Or am I missing something?
I hope you're not! That would be my plan for Moder. If he doesn't eventually get game time with us, then at least after a successful loan we should get a reasonable wedge for him at the moment he's been effectively out of sight for so long I doubt he's on anyone's radar, and his market value is probably as low as it can get.
If however he can go and run the midfield of a promotion chasing \Championship team, he should be worth a few millions .

WTF? He's not 'crap' as you put it, Stephen Dobbie was crap. Moders had to work his way back from what could have been a career ending injury. Give the lad some slack and see how he does. He looked capable in the small parts he played in what was a dysfunctional outfit towards the end of last season.

Not often I criticize an account for a basic lack of football knowledge and perhaps this is a parody account and I’ve misunderstood but Moder is a “baller”
